Project: An Integrated Approach towards PPTCT through Safe Motherhood Initiative

Organisation: MAMTA Health Institute for Mother and Child is Delhi based national NGO working on various issues related to sexual and reproductive health. The two-year project is an attempt to integrate PPTCT into safe motherhood initiatives in order to provide HIV screening and thereof relevant services to all pregnant women. The project is being implemented through NGO partners in two districts of Himachal Pradesh and Delhi.

Location: Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
Starting from: November 1, 2007
Last Date of Application: November 25, 2007

Period: One year initially, that may be extended depending on the performance

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Eligibility: The incumbent will have

• Postgraduate degree in Social Work/Psychology/Sociology
• 4 to 5 years of progressive experience in working HIV/AIDS related programme and advocacy
• Good knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft word, excel, power-point and outlook express
• Fluent in reading, writing and speaking Hindi and English

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day/regular assistance and support to the partners in the field
• Facilitate relevant technical assistance to the partner NGOs for smooth implementation of the programme
• Ensure communication, collaboration and exchange between NGO partners in the field and MAMTA
• Organise and manage workshops/training and review workshops as and when needed
• Ensure quarterly and annual programme targets are achieved by the partner NGOs
• Oversee financial management of allocated NGO budgets
• Undertake advocacy with the service providers and relevant authorities
• Prepare papers for, and attend, meetings/conferences at various levels as required
• Oversee M&E activities of the NGOs
• Collect and analyse regular reports from NGO partners on programme activities and finance
• Prepare and submit regular reports to the donor on programme activities and finance
• Maintain good working relationships with various relevant government departments at district and state level
