Qualification:

1. Be not less than thirty five years of age
2. Posses a bachelor degree from a recognized university
3. Be person of ability, integrity and standing and having adequate knowledge and experience of at least ten years in dealing with problems relating to economics, law, commerce, accountancy, industry, public affairs or administration

Term and Condition:
For district forums first preference will be given to the candidates belonging to the concerned district. In case no application is received from the concerned district or applicant is not found eligible then candidate of other district will be considered. The member so appointed for State Consumer Commission shall hold office for a term of five years or up to the age of sixty seven years and the members so appointed for District forum shall hold office for a term of five years or up to the age of sixty five years, whichever is earlier in both the case. The other terms and Condition shall be governed under the Consumer Protection Act 1986, and H.P Consumer Protection Rules, 1988.
